Me and Music
Hello all! I am JaPrincess Jones. I am a double major in Musical Theater and Dance here at Converse. I have been involved in music and dance all my life and got into the theater part very recently. My hope is that I will one day be on TV or the stage of Broadway.
My current go-to genre is currently Musical theater. I have an entire playlist dedicated to it if you would like to have a listen. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1utXJYDAXotvWXksR7cNeE?si=FSnC1F-_Q3yJvH2omNSvdg. (Content Warning: the illusion to SA) My favorite Song at this moment is “Hold Them Down” from the musical “Epic The Musical Concept”.
Despite the theme of this song, I love the vocals from Ayron Alexander and the way that he can act with just his voice. I suggest listening to the musical's last Saga to get more context to this song.

A genre of music that is deeply important to me is Gospel music. One song that I love listening to is “For My Good”
I love this song because it has such a beautiful message and when I was in church and danced to this song it really hit me as to what the meaning of this song could be.
Like I said I have never known myself to hate a song, but I would not really call this a song it was a remix of a couple of lines that she said one time on Dr. Phil. Once people started quoting her daily, she decided to make money off of the phrase and make a song and video.

I really liked both of your first two selections for wildly different reasons. My brother recently showed me "Epic The Musical Concept," and I love the idea of taking these classic stories back to the way they would've been originally told: with music. It's such a great way to honor their roots and make them interesting to modern audiences. I really liked "For My Good" because it is such a good reminder in times like these when everything seems to be going wrong that there is a reason for it, even if we don't see it yet.
